Hey, just want to let everyone know that its still going to be a while before I can truly fix or provide support for RPGHub. If you havent already installed a working copy, my recommendation to you is Winebottler in the meantime, as it provides an app wrapper for a vanilla distribution of Wine that works with most software. I have plans to eventually create something that will outrival RPGHub in terms of ease of use for users, but theres too much on my plate right now. I made a post on the forum about the current status of the project.

In short, I have plans to revitalize the project and make it better than ever, but I need time as Im busy with school and the commercial release of Oneshot. I wanna give a shoutout to Lee on the forums for creating and maintaining this awesome list cataloging the compatibility of various games with RPGHub.

Also, if you havent already, you should sign up and share your experiences and issues with games. It would really help! The servers still down, might be a few hoursIn the meantime you can get the download links for RPGHub here. And in case you didnt catch it on the forums while they were up, you should reinstall the RTP with this version, and if you have problems with missing audio in games, rpg maker games mac should reimport those games as well. rpgosx:This version fixes manyproblems that were in previous releases, and includes support for the new official RPG Maker 2003 runtime. You can download it here.

Please read the release notes carefully! rpgosx:Is there anyone here whos purchased the new RPG Maker 2003 editor on Steam whom I could ask some questions? I dont want to buy it myself since I dont really need it, but Id like to experiment with/know some things to make sure games will work with the next version of RPGHub.

Alternatively, if a generous person would like to gift it to me on Steam, I would appreciate that. What can I do to prevent this in the future? If you are on a personal connection, like at home, you can run an anti-virus scan on your device to make sure it is not infected with malware. If you are at an office or shared network, you can ask the network administrator to run a scan across the network looking for misconfigured or infected devices. Or whatever it's called.?I know that OFF, a popular RPG Maker game, has a Mac version. Does anyone know how? There is Linux software, which would probably work on a Mac, that allows Windows applications to run. This software is called "Wine"They might have used that.I have also heard rumors that older RPG Maker games have unauthorized execution environments which might work on a Mac. Wine gets it's name as an acronym for Wine is not an emulator.

To be more precise, it is a compatibility layer. There have been successful attempts at "porting" RPG Maker games to OS X by packaging them in a Wine wrapper called Wineskin.

I've not tried to get anything working myself, but I know it can be done for XP / VX / VXAce games. You'll have to package DirectX 8.0 or higher along with a version of wine which plays well with your game (I've heard the 1.4.x branch works well).

Start with the latest version of wine, but if it doesn't work, don't be discouraged. Updates break things at times, and so you should experiment and find what works best through trial and error. There's a group (company?) by the name of Jammed Gears Teamwhich has porteda few RPG Maker games now, but unless you have wads of cash to throw around without worry, I'd learn to use the same process they use (wineskin) and just do it yourself, because I honestly don't imagine the process to be terribly difficult.EDIT: You may also want to try WineBottler, which achieves the same effect as Wineskin.

So, are RMVXA games compatible with a Mac OS?If not, then is there any way to make them compatible? Thank you! Assuming Darwine is not outdated to its intended purpose, you should check out Darwine. If it allows and is updated to a version at least two or three away similar to WINE, then setting it up to run on Mac shouldn't be an issue since with WINE it is capable to run RMVX/ACE. Again, I'm not 100% sure as I don't own a Mac. However, I heard it is possible to do and have seen some rpg maker games mac where they have it running.Otherwise, the people would have to have Windows installed as well or use Fusion. Anything RPG Maker related isn't Mac compatible.I've seen people have some success with an application called CrossOver.

https://www.codeweavers.com/products/If I remember correctly, last time I used the application it was very straight forward and simple. Also it has a trial so you can test and see if it works with RPG Maker games.Personal recommendation would be to just install Windows on the Mac. This can be done through Boot Camp (comes with every Mac 10.5 or later), Parallels, VMWare Fusion, or Virtual Box. Boot Camp requires them to restart the Mac while the others allow them to run Windows at the same time as Mac OS The best option would be through Parallels, VMWare Fusion, or Virtual Box as they won't have to reboot to run your game.I work on Apple computers for a living so if you have any questions feel free to respond or send me a pm. , though it is dated a bit.

Besides Windows as an option if Darwine doesn't work for them, you could always ask them if they are willing to install Ubuntu (free alternative to Windows, easy to set up and is powerful) as a dual boot or install on the same HDD (Runs side by side, but this way you can uninstall it like its a program).

With Ubuntu on, they would be able to use RMVX/ACE.Though the same issue of having to reboot the computer into Ubuntu exists. Existing user? You can learn more about the OS X Native RPG Maker MV HERE.Unfortunately this is not an announcement for RPG Maker offering a native Mac OS program.Instead, its a fairly inexpensive way to play RPG Maker on your Mac.Using a free program called Virtual Box ( https://www.virtualbox.org/) you can run Windows in a window on your mac.Youll still need a copy of Windows but these can be obtained fairly cheaply. It takes maybe half an hour to get everything set up (including installing windows)This is rpg maker games mac great alternative to a paid program which you may have heard of called Parallels.Once your set up download a free trial here and get to it!Wed love to hear how this worked for you.

Leave us a comment below!Until Next Time,The RPG Maker Team I really dont understand why you guys cant just make it for mac also you will be getting more money anyways because people wont a virtual desktop product just use your software so if you make it on a mac more people can use and honestly I dont think it would be that hard Sooooo. what happens when I download another program to run windows, then buy the 70$ program youre selling, then, youre new program finally comes out for my native OS.

I get to buy the program twice? To everyone complaining:Heres the deal it probably isnt very cost-effective or worthwhile to completely rewrite code just to make it work on MacOS.

I know Apple has spent a lot of money advertising, and making it seem like every computer is a Mac (thats the impression one would get from watching TV shows and movies but if you pay close attention, you will notice in the credits that promotional consideration was provided by Apple; ie.

they PAID the movies/TV shows to use Apple products to make it seem like everybody does)According to NetMarketShare.com, this rpg maker games mac the breakdown:84% of devices run Windows6% run Mac OS10% run mobile platforms (Android, iOS, etc.) about 6% of that is iOS (4% iPhone, 2% iPad)Thats the reality. And the reality says its not a great return on investment to try to customize RPG Maker for MacOS or iOS ^ This guy, give him a medal.

I personally have a distaste for Apples incompatibility with various applications, although I understand it. Its an annoyance and frankly a bother. People realize that with Apple, you get reliability, on Apple. With Windows or Linux you get a massive community dedicated to the improvement of the products, replaceable hardware which leads to longer sustainability of a machine, and convenience. Some components of OS X are open source.

Nothing from Windows (as of me writing this) is, as far as I know.Anyone can write up a program/app on an OS X as easily as they can on Windows. You dont even need to use Apples Xcode. You can make Java apps just like on Windows. In fact, OS X developers benefit from the huge library of tools built by communities for unix-like systems (i.e.

Linux), since OS X itself is a rpg maker games mac OS. The lone one here is Windows. If you didnt understand half of what I just said, keep your fanboyism to yourself until you know what youre talking about. Youre completely off.Take out the grannies, the casual users and all of the people who are not potential target audiences for RPG Maker first. Most developers/professionals develop using Macs. The Unity Game Engine was initially a Mac exclusive.Im pretty sure a huge amount of RPG Makers potential users are going elsewhere because its a Windows exclusive. it actually is very hard to make it on a mac they would have to re write all the code (which is a lot) and then publish it if making diffrent versions of games were that easy every game on the pc would be for the mac. It slightly disgusts me when people talk of RPG maker raking them over the coals?

This is not an expensive program. Be realistic and fair, these people work hard to make a game engine and it allows you the chance to make commercial games. These cats are constantly making new updates, new resources, scriptsmusic etc to help improve it, but they need to eat and pay bills like everyone else.

You get games like wow that you pay 14.99 a month to just play and you still have to buy expansion packs. Even this is not bad, because they have to pay their bills too. Im attempting this, and I think its fine. The memory thing is a major problem, but I believe this is the best way to sell their products to mac users quickly.

Re-writing the code would be a nightmare, so thank god all they have to do is point us in the direction of another software.Pingback: Games for Gamers News and Download of Free and Indie Videogames and more ! www.g4g.it Kanye Quest 3030() If you want to play games, Windows is always better.

In my opinion, mac is pointless, you can do more on a windows computer then youll be able to on mac and plus, with my windows PC, if it gets old, I can buy new parts and install them whereas if I had a mac, when its hardware goes (Bulgarian) cestina (Czech) Dansk (Danish) Nederlands (Dutch) Suomi (Finnish) Francais (French) ???????? Thankfully Ancurio has provided a script that simulates some of the Win32API, especially for the mouse functionality in games.- Scripts made for RPG Maker XP and VX respect the Ruby 1.8.x syntax, while RPG Maker VX Ace and mkxp use later versions of Ruby. In such cases those scripts should be updated to be compatible with Ruby 1.9+ syntax. For example, in your "The White Wishes" game, you have used the VX version of "Animated Parallax" script which has issues with the latest Ruby syntax.Unfortunately just changing the script to its VX Ace version does not work because the VX Ace version is not a drop-in replacement. So the script needs modifications to work with mkxp.

I tried a bit, but I was not successful and I'm a little busy right now so I could not put much time on it.So I went for the second solution:2- Running the game on Wine.Wine allows some Windows programs to run on Mac and Linux, unmodified, including many games made with RPG Maker games. It won't be as good as a native port made with mkxp, but it is acceptable. There are many ways to use Wine on Mac, one example is WineBottler:https://winebottler.kronenberg.orgThere is also PlayonMac:https://www.playonmac.com/en/And Wineskin Winery:https://wineskin.urgesoftware.com/tiki-index.phpBasically someone can install Wine using one of the above packages, and then run the exe file of the game with one of them. That's how I played your game.
